Our Charity Partners

Helping funding go further. Supporting the pets who need it most.

Petscribers partners with charities that are working at the sharp end of animal welfare.

When budgets are stretched and demand is rising, medication costs matter. Every pound saved on prescriptions is a pound that can support another pet.

We’re a veterinary-led platform designed to simplify the written prescription process and help charities access safe, authentic medication from government-approved UK pharmacies at transparent, comparable prices.

We don’t replace the vet. We don’t supply medication. We make the pathway clearer, safer, and more affordable.

Together, we:

  • Extend the impact of grant funding
  • Reduce costs for carers and adopters
  • Protect pets through safe sourcing from government-approved pharmacies
  • Reduce admin and mental load for charity teams
  • Keep prescribing vets at the centre of care

Because animal welfare shouldn’t depend on navigating a confusing system.

Why charities partner with Petscribers

Charities often support pets with complex, ongoing medical needs. That means repeat prescriptions, long-term medication, and tight budgets.

The barriers are real:

  • Rising medication costs
  • Limited funding pools
  • Administrative burden
  • Concerns about counterfeit or unsafe online suppliers
  • Carers feeling overwhelmed

Petscribers removes friction from the prescription journey, without compromising clinical oversight.

We help carers and charity teams:

  • Understand the written prescription provided by their vet
  • Compare like-for-like medication prices clearly
  • Purchase directly from government-approved UK pharmacies
  • Keep track of medication schedules with confidence

We help reduce ongoing medication costs, so that you can support more pets.

Protecting our protector animals in retirement

The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NFRSA) supports retired police, fire, prison, Border Force, NHS and RAF Police animals across the UK.

When a service animal retires, operational funding stops. But medical needs often increase.

These animals have spent their working lives protecting us. In retirement, they rely on their handlers and on charities like the NFRSA, to help cover ongoing veterinary and medication costs.

What this partnership delivers

Following a medication audit with NFRSA members:

  • 40% average saving for members who previously purchased exclusively through their practice
  • 28% overall saving across all members

By reducing the underlying cost of prescriptions:

  • The NFRSA’s grant contribution stretches further
  • Handlers pay a smaller percentage of a lower bill
  • More retired service animals can be supported with the same charitable budget

As Lady (Countess) Bathurst, Chair of the NFRSA, explains:

“These animals are genuine heroes who have devoted their working lives to keeping us safe. Reducing medication costs without cutting corners on care allows us to support more retired dogs and horses for longer.”

Dr Angela Jones, Co-Founder of Petscribers, adds:

“As vets, we designed Petscribers to reduce cost without compromising care. Every pound saved on prescriptions is a pound that can support another retired hero.”
