Our Story
Petscribers was born from a shared frustration. As practising veterinary surgeons, we witnessed how medication costs impact families.
While prescription medications were available online at lower costs, finding trusted sources was confusing, time-consuming, and full of uncertainty.
We knew there had to be a better way.
We launched Petscribers to help pet owners easily find and compare prices of safe medications from government-approved pharmacies, and simplify the prescription process.
Our platform, designed by vets, is here to empower you with the information and support you need to make the best choice for your pet’s health.
Meet Our Team
Our co-founders, Dr. Emma Pemberthy and Dr. Angela Jones, have combined their passion for animals, veterinary care, and innovation.

Emma’s journey began at the University of Cambridge, where she studied Natural Sciences. She initially went into investment banking but quickly decided she wanted to do something with more purpose. A year later, she ended up going lambing and never turned back.
She returned to university to study veterinary medicine at the University of Nottingham. After almost ten years as a small animal vet, she hung up her stethoscope to bring Petscribers to life.
Emma is passionate about transforming the pet medication landscape, making it more straightforward, affordable, and transparent for pet owners everywhere. She believes that with the right know-how, pet owners can make the best decisions for their pets’ health; they just need to be given those tools.
Outside of work, Emma shares her life with her husband, two young sons and a lively flock of call ducks, who don’t believe in quiet mornings.

Angela’s journey into veterinary medicine began with a lifelong passion for horses. After graduating from the University of Bristol with a degree in Veterinary Science in 2009, she immediately entered equine practice and became an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in Equine Internal Medicine. Over the years, Angela has worked as a veterinarian for leisure horses, sports horses, and the Metropolitan Police Force. She has also contributed extensively to emergency out-of-hours veterinary care through her role with Equicall. Angela is also an elected member of the British Equine Veterinary Association, a professional body that supports and represents equine vets while promoting the health and welfare of horses.
Driven by a desire for greater flexibility and professional fulfilment, Angela co-founded Petscribers in 2021. Combining her clinical experience with a passion for innovation in pet care, Angela is committed to making pet care more affordable, accessible, and transparent for all pet owners.
Angela’s commitment to improving pet health extends beyond clinical work. A passionate writer and communicator, she regularly contributes to Horse & Hound, as well as other pet-focused publications and podcasts. She also has a keen interest in the intersection of veterinary medicine and technology.
Outside of professional life, Angela enjoys exploring the Cotswolds with her young family and their dog, George.

Victor holds advanced degrees in Artificial Intelligence and the Philosophy of Computing from the University of Toronto and the University of Cambridge, including a PhD focused on the application of automation in clinical diagnosis.
With over 20 years of experience as a full-stack programmer, he has spent the last decade leading technical teams in start-ups across the US and UK.
Victor is currently collaborating with his three-year-old daughter on her mission to acquire a pet cat. Their strategy? Leave the windows open and hope a feral kitten wanders in.

Michelle McClure is a strategic, data-driven marketing leader with over 16 years of experience helping B2B and DTC businesses grow through digital innovation and customer-obsessed storytelling. As CMO at Petscribers, she brings her unique blend of high-level strategic insight and hands-on execution to shape the brand’s marketing direction, optimising all digital touchpoints to serve pet owners across the UK better.
Michelle has delivered measurable growth for scale-ups and mission-led brands across various sectors, including pet care, healthcare, technology, entrepreneurship, and food safety. At Rover Europe, she served as Head of Brand Communications and Marketing, leading a team that attracted up to 250,000 unique visitors monthly across eight country-specific blogs, drove social media engagement, and secured PR coverage.
A passionate mentor and certified AI Marketing Specialist, Michelle is recognised for transforming insights into impact, building high-performing teams and scalable marketing systems along the way.
She’s also a proud cocker spaniel mum to Fergus, aligning her work with the emotional realities of modern pet parenting.
The Evolution of Petscribers
After launching Petscribers Beta in 2024, the platform quickly gained traction with pet owners and veterinary professionals who saw its value.
In Summer 2025, we officially launched the redesigned platform, offering a seamless, user-friendly experience for those looking to save on pet medication.
Veterinary prescribing is complex with huge variation in species, weight, licensed products and cascade considerations. In 2026, Petscribers is launching smart e-prescribing software, which streamlines the written prescription process, reducing creation time by up to 80%. With embedded compliance and security safeguards, Petscribers reduces the inconvenience of requesting a script and time burdens on busy veterinary professionals.
Petscribers makes it easier for vets to prescribe, easier for owners to purchase and easier for pharmacies to fulfil written prescriptions. We're building the software we wished we'd had in practice, supporting the UK's 17 million pet-owning households, improving access to medication, transparency and animal welfare.

In 2026, we’re launching our veterinary e-prescribing platform, purpose-built for modern practices.
Today, written prescriptions are manual, time-consuming, and vulnerable to error and fraud. We’re changing that.
Our e-prescribing tools will:
- Enable secure, standardised digital prescriptions
- Auto-populate key fields to reduce admin and cognitive load
- Automatically calculate doses and quantities
- Upload prescriptions directly to the owner’s Petscribers dashboard
- Store prescriptions within a secure, centralised repository to help reduce fraud
For vets, this means less time on paperwork and more time focused on patient care.
For pharmacies, it means standardisation and fewer script errors.
